Auditions are open for Back Bay Chorale, Brattleboro Camerata, Brattleboro Concert Choir, The Cambridge Chamber Singers , Cantemus Chamber Chorus, Cantilena, Coro Allegro, Crescendo Music, GM Chorale, Jameson Singers, Lexington Pops Chorus, Masterworks Chorale, Mystic River Chorale, New England Classical Singers, The Oriana Consort and Zamir Chorale of Boston. iCal 6:00 PM. Crescendo [MA]: Sublime Love: The life of Sor Juana Inés de la Cruz in 17th century Latin American Music, Poetry and Image. Sor Juana Inés De la Cruz is considered one of the finest poets of the Spanish New World Golden Age. She was also a philosopher, scholar and composer. Her life will be depicted through music, artwork and poetry readings, including sacred and secular cantatas from the 1600s New World Colonies, featuring vocal compositions by Tomás de Torrejón y Velasco and his contemporaries. With the early music ensemble "El Fuego" from North Carolina, in a program designed by their Artistic Director, Salomé Sandoval. Salomé Sandoval, voice, baroque guitar and archlute; Malina Rauschenfels, voice and violoncello; Christine Gevert, organ and direction.
