Traditional American sacred and secular tunes, protest songs, jazz standards, and contemporary choral works from diverse perspectives, in commemoration of the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence. As we all celebrate this monumental occasion in different ways, this concert will invite us to seek what we hold dear about this land together, from sea to shining sea. iCal 3:00 PM. The Seraphim Singers / Renaissance Men [MA]: All Night Vigil. Sergei Rachmaninoff: All-Night Vigil, Op. 47; and Russian, Ukrainian, and other regional folk songs. Eric Christopher Perry, Interim Music Director. Tickets: $30, $25 senior, $15 student (see website for special promotions). In collaboration with The Icon Museum in Clinton MA, which will host an exhibit of about a dozen icons from their collection before and after each concert. Sunday's performance is also live streamed. Powerful interpolations of Russian, Ukrainian, and other regional folk songs will bring into dialogue distinct musical legacies. With songs of joy, love, and salvation, we’ll cry for an end to violence in Ukraine and throughout the world with one strong voice.
