CANE Conversations

Join us on Sunday, September 6 at 2pm (EST) for a panel discussion of Grants During a Time of Crisis. We will speak with grant-makers and grant-writers about their experiences over the last 6 months and about their hopes and concerns going forward. There will be time for question and answer with the audience. This is the third in a series of ongoing CANE Conversations covering current topics for choral musicians. Keep an eye out for our fourth installment on topics of race and culture in choral music, slated for late September or early October.

2020 Alfred Nash Patterson Grant Recipients Named

Choral Arts New England has announced the funding of 13 grants, for a total of $13,500, in the 2020–2021 season. The funded projects were selected from 51 proposals received. Last year, 52 applications were received and $13,650 was given in grants. The grant recipients are Cappella Clausura (Newtonville, Mass.), CONCORA (Hartford, Conn.), Concord Chorus (Concord, Mass.), Counterpoint (Montpelier, Vt.), Emmanuel Music (Boston, Mass.), Grand Monadnock Youth Choirs (Peterborough, N.H.), Handel and Haydn Society (Boston, Mass.), Hartford Chorale (Hartford, Conn.), Music on the Hill (Wilton, Conn.), Providence Singers (Providence, R.I.), Una Voce Chamber Choir (Bath, Maine), Voices of Concinnity (Mansfield Center, Conn.), and Wescustago Youth Chorale (Yarmouth, Maine).
