Songs of peace, songs of war, songs of patriotism, songs of protest, songs of connection to the causes we live for, from Civil War hymns to more contemporary songs by Crosby, Stills & Nash, Joni Mitchell, Keb’ Mo’, Ysaye Barnwell, Pat Humphries, Nick Page and others. Led by Nick Page. Guitarist Gary Backstrom opens with Jimi Hendrix’s version of The Star Spangled Banner, and the concert closes with Linda Brown San Martin (a classmate of Hillary Clinton!) and the Chorale singing a medley of civil rights anthems.
