Music from the Renaissance master Orlando di Lasso and some other contemporary ladies and gentlemen, from the liturgical, to the non-liturgical sacred, from “high” secular music (motets in Latin through Italian madrigals), all the way to the most profane (drinking and lewd songs). 7:30 PM. Tactus Ensemble Cambridge [MA]: A (Mostly) Spanish Renaissance Christmas. A range of Renaissance Christmas music from the well-known to the undiscovered, including a Magnificat by Guerrero, a Christmas motet by Morales, and Victoria’s O Magnum Mysterium, as well as music by Juan Garcia de Salaza, Pedro de Aranaz, Juan Gutierrez de Padilla.
