4:00 PM. The Heritage Chorale [MA]: Heritage Chorale Pops Concert- "A Gift of Song". The Heritage Chorale’s 2013 Pops Concert features a tantalizing cornucopia of America’s favorite music. Popular songs from musical theater (including “My Favorite Things” and “Give My Regards to Broadway”), energetic spirituals and jazz-influenced gospel tunes, and stirring patriotic numbers (“The Battle Hymn of the Republic” and “America the Beautiful”) are just a few of the delights this concert presents. We’ll also celebrate America’s multicultural richness with selections as diverse as “Guantanamera,” “Hava Nagila,” and “All Through The Night.” Our audience will be invited to “sing along with the Heritage Chorale” on some of our favorite selections. Conducted by John Finney and accompanied by our amazing pianist Darryl Hollister, this concert offers an enjoyable afternoon of popular song, complete with table seating and refreshments. Framingham’s impressive and acoustically resonant Nevins Hall provides the perfect setting for this memorable event! For more information, call 508-270-3999 or email info@heritagechorale.org. (Lima sang with Heritage in Carmina Burana last spring and was very popular with the audience.) Very appropriate for Mothers’ Day is the hauntingly beautiful Five Hebrew Love Songs by currently popular composer Eric Whitacre, with Hebrew lyrics by his wife. The Chorale’s stellar accompanist Darryl Hollister, who is celebrating his 25th anniversary with Heritage, will be featured in a Faure piece, accompanied by a string quintet. Closing out the program will be A Jubilant Song by Dello Joio, which offers exciting harmonies and driving rhythms. This event is sponsored by the Massachusetts Local Cultural Council and by the Mary Ann Morse Healthcare Organization. For more information, call 508-270-3999 or email info@heritagechorale.org.
