7:30 PM. Pilgrim Festival Chorus [MA]: American Journey. A retrospective of American choral music directed by Elizabeth Chapman Reilly and accompanied by pianist Susan Land Hotchkiss. Using selections as diverse as folksongs, shape note tunes, and spirituals, and including compositions by Stephen Foster, George M. Cohan, and Cole Porter, singers will celebrate the sheer variety of American music. One of the featured pieces in the program will be the moving arrangement of the national anthem that was performed by the Brooklyn Youth Chorus at the tenth anniversary commemoration of 9/11 in New York.
