2:30 PM. Illumine Vocal Arts Ensemble [MA]: Would You Harbor Me? Named for a song by Sweet Honey in the Rock, “Would You Harbor Me?” explores displacement and the quest for refuge through music ranging from the Baroque to the contemporary. Dieterich Buxtehude: Ad Manus, from Membra Jesu Nostri; Caroline Shaw: “To the Hands”; two settings of the theme from Finlandia: the hymn tune, with which the audience is invited to sing, and an arrangement by Blake Morgan for Voces8; works by Dunphy, Guillaume & more. A post-concert reception includes a small showing of photographed details from works by sculptor Harriet Diamond that address the suffering of refugees displaced by war and climate destabilization.
