Woods Hole Cantata Consort
A summer community chorale and chamber orchestra that performs a program of classical music in the village of Woods Hole, in the town of Falmouth, Massachusetts. The concerts will be held Saturday, August 15 and Sunday, August 16, 2026, at 4pm. Music Director is Margaret Bossi.
This year’s musical program is entitled “Heading North.” We will be singing a unique program of Scandinavian, Canadian, and American pieces with a wonderful group of guest artists:
- Laudate Dominum by Halley (tutti)
- Ubi Caritas by Gjello (tutti a capella)
- Only in Sleep by Esenvalds (Sara solo)
- arrangements of two Canadian folksongs, including I’se the By, Feller from Fortune (chorus, piano)
- This is my Song/Finlandia by Sibelius (organ, oboe, piano, chorus)
- set of spiritual including Long Way from Home (Phil solo, oboe, piano, chorus)
- How Can I Keep from Singing
- Sound Over All Water by Halley (Carla, chorus, piano bass/organ)
- United in Song by Halley (tutti)
Rehearsals begin June 16 and are held most Tuesday evenings and some Thursdays. We will start each rehearsal promptly at 7:00 and we will end promptly at 9:00, with a small break in the middle – or not, as desired. Music will be distributed at the first rehearsal. Please bring a 3-ring binder and a pencil. Markings on music may ONLY be made lightly in pencil.
Singer fee: Please bring a check for $45 made out to WHCC. This covers music and rehearsal costs. Additional donations are welcome.
