We are a non-auditioned community chorus made up of experienced singers from Mount Desert Island and the surrounding communities, as well as those from away. Since 1968, singers have gathered on beautiful Mount Desert Island to perform some of the world's greatest choral music.  We rehearse during the summer and perform in early August in Bar Harbor and Ellsworth, Maine.

Singers pay annual dues, which subsidize the rental of music and access to study materials. Annual dues are waived for supporting members who pledge $10 a month or more.  In addition, many singers support the chorale by serving on committees, assisting with publicity, hosting guest artists, or working on concert logistics.

The 58th season is called "Go for Baroque". It will feature J.S. Bach's Motet 3, "Jesu, meine Freude" (Jesus, my joy) BMW 227, and Antonio Vivaldi's "Gloria", RV 589. With Melissa Solomon,, soprano; Miriam Schildkret, mezzo-soprano.

Rehearsals are mostly Wednesday evenings, 6:30 - 9 p.m., beginning on June 24, 2026. Concerts are August 7, 2026 at 7:30 at St. Saviour's Episcopal Church 41 Mt. Desert St. Bar Harbor; and August 8, 2026 at 7:30 pm at Ellsworth High School 24 Lejok St Ellsworth.
