Woods Hole Cantata Consort
A summer community chorale and chamber orchestra founded in 1973 that performs a program of classical music. Adult singers of all ages and voices rehearse for six weeks and present a performance. No formal auditions, but singers should be proficient. Singers interested in joining the choir should see the information and sign-up forms on the website.
The program for 2019, under the direction of Maggie Bossi:
- "Pastoral” choruses by Handel and Purcell; a Handel Harp concerto; and selections from Ralph Vaughan Williams's Songs of Travel.
- John Rutter: A Sprig of Thyme (folksongs from the British Isles for chorus, soprano, baritone, and chamber ensemble)
Concerts: August 17, 2019 (7:30 pm) and August 18, 2019 (4 pm). at the Church of the Messiah, 22 Church Street, Woods Hole, Mass.
Rehearsals generally start at 7 pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Rehersal dates are are June 18 and 27, July 2, 9, 11, 21, 23, and 25, Aug. 1, 8, 13, 15 and 16.
