Litchfield County Choral Union
Each year since 1951 the Litchfield County Choral Union has presented a major choral work with orchestra in the Music Shed the Battell-Stoeckel estate at the intersection of routes 44 and 272 in Norfolk, Connecticut. The building, lined with California redwood, is a concert hall of remarkably fine acoustic quality. We welcome all singers with a love for classical choral music. No auditions are necessary, though the pace of our rehearsals encourages dedicated and regular participation. Rehearsals are held on Monday evenings from 7:30 PM to 10:00 PM on the Ellen Battell Stoeckel Estate at the intersection of routes 44 and 272 in Norfolk, Connecticut. Additional rehearsal sessions occur on alternate Tuesday evenings during the concert season, which runs from the first Monday in May through the last Sunday in July.
The 2019 Season concert is "Unintended Influences - Opera Choruses and Arias." Works of Bizet, Donizetti, Handel, Verdi, Weber, Puccini and Vaughan Williams, featuring Vaughan Williams' In Windsor Forest, with Allison Messier, mezzo-soprano, and the LCCU Festival Orchestra.
