Auditions will be held on Wednesday, September 23, 2026, at Temple Reyim, 1860 Washington St., Newton, and are by appointment only and must be scheduled in advance by emailing manager@zamir.org. When you write, please provide your voice part and the best phone number to reach you.

In addition to the audition, candidates are required to attend two open rehearsals: Tuesdays, Sept. 15 and 22. An orientation session for those auditioning will be held at 6:30 pm, just prior to the open rehearsals.

Rehearsals throughout the year are generally held on Tuesdays, from September to early June, at Temple Reyim, from 7:15 to 9:45 pm.

Candidates should have excellent vocal quality, the ability to sight-read music, and previous choral experience.

The Zamir Chorale of Boston, under the direction of founder and Artistic Director Joshua Jacobson, performs concerts in the Greater-Boston area and throughout the Northeast. A typical season comprises 8-10 performances.

The 60-member adult chorale, dubbed a “virtuoso outfit” by the Boston Globe and recognized by American Record Guide as “America’s foremost Jewish choral ensemble,” has remained committed to the highest quality performance of music spanning thousands of years, four continents, and a variety of styles, both popular and classical.
