The Masterworks Chorale is holding auditions for all voice parts.  Tenors and basses are especially welcome.

Our three-concert season includes:

• Joseph Haydn's Lord Nelson Mass at Sanders Theatre in Cambridge
• Robert Schumann's Requiem at First Church in Cambridge
• Johannes Brahms's Ein deutsches Requiem at Cary Hall in Lexington

Prospective new members are invited to an Open Rehearsal on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, 7:30–10 PM, at Beth El Temple Center (2 Concord Avenue, Belmont, MA 02478).

Auditions for all voice parts will be scheduled by appointment for Saturday, September 6, 2025, 1:30–4:30 PM, at Payson Park Church (365 Belmont Street, Belmont, MA 02478).

Rehearsals are held Tuesday evenings, 7:30–10 PM, at Beth El Temple Center in Belmont. There is plenty of free parking, and there is direct access via bus from Harvard Square.

Our audition consist of the following components:

• Solo of your choosing to be sung with piano accompaniment. Choose something that you know well and which you feel shows your voice to its best advantage. The piece does not have to be memorized. Past choices for solos have included arias, art songs, or hymns (your voice part in a choral work is not acceptable as a solo). Songs may be sung in English. A piano accompanist will be provided for you, and you should bring a copy of your music for the accompanist.
• Sight reading, with consideration given to accuracy of notes, intervals, and rhythm.
