Eric Whitacre Leads Connecticut's "Voce"

The Hartford, Connecticut professional choral ensemble Voce welcomes Eric Whitacre as Conductor and Composer-in-Residence for their 2019-2020 season with a "Prelude" concert on October 22, 2019, where Whitacre and Voce perform some of Whitacre's best-known works, including Lux Nova, Cloudburst and Leonardo Dreams of His Flying Machine, as well as five movements of Sacred Veil, which was premiered earlier this year. The event partially benefits Choral Arts New England's grants program.

Chorus members sought for Beethoven's Ninth Symphony

On Sunday, October 20, 2019, Monadock Music will celebrate the life of founder James Bolle with a Memorial Concert at the Peterborough Town House in New Hampshire. The concert will feature Beethoven's 9th Symphony, performed by a professional orchestra, conducted by Artistic Director Gil Rose. The chorus will be prepared by Wayne Abercrombie.

We are seeking a field chorus of 120 members from the region for the Memorial Concert performance - 30 members for each voice type - first come first serve.

Ethnic Identity and Choral Singing: A Conversation

Wednesday, May 15, 2019, 7:30 pm, Hebrew College, 160 Herrick Rd., Newton. Free Admission (pre-registration suggested). Zamir Chorale of Boston and Hebrew College’s School of Jewish Music will present an informal round-table panel discussion exploring issues related to ethnic identity and choral singing. Visitors are welcome to listen in to the conversations and will have the opportunity to ask questions and interact with the participants.
