Choral Director Needed in Brookline, MA

Coolidge Corner Community Chorus | Choral Director Job Description

The Coolidge Corner Community Chorus is seeking a new Choral Director to lead a non-auditioned, adult
SATB chorus that meets on Wednesday evenings from 7:15 p.m. to 9:15 p.m. in Brookline, MA
(September through June). The group is composed of approximately 40 singers of differing abilities and
backgrounds, all of whom enjoy a range of musical styles from ancient to contemporary, as well as
masterworks to little known compositions.

We are looking for a Choral Director to select appropriate repertoire, lead rehearsals, and direct
concerts. The Chorus performs an annual spring concert at All Saints Parish in Brookline, and aspires to
perform at other local venues throughout the year.

We have previously offered chorus members the opportunity to be part of a small, self-selecting
ensemble that sings shorter works, such as madrigals. This group has historically rehearsed on
Wednesdays from 6:15 p.m. to 7:10 p.m., participating in both the small ensemble and main group
rehearsals. This is not a requirement for application, but we would be interested to know if you are a
candidate available and willing to offer this opportunity in addition to the main evening rehearsals.
The successful applicant will be invited to assist us in finding a permanent Collaborative Pianist. (We have
a temporary accompanist in place until January 2025).

The compensation for this position is $800 per month (September through June).

Interested candidates should forward a resume, cover letter, and any supplementary materials to
crispin@cccchorus.org by August 19, 2024.

Any questions relating to the position should be addressed to crispin@cccchorus.org.
