GMChorale commissioned Brand’s “Sing On!” as a tribute to its first 50 years, transforming from a community chorus into an ever-evolving choral arts organization with main symphonic chorus of 100 voices, vocal chamber ensemble - Alchemy, and instrumental chamber ensemble of flexible composition – Harmonia. Brand’s stirring new work captures GMChorale’s forwardmoving exuberance, fostering of intergenerational collaboration, and passionate engaging of its choristers, directors, and audiences in the choral art.

Brand crafted “Sing On!” to celebrate choral music’s ability to animate the human experiences of love, solitude, community, nature, time, spirituality, the vastness of the universe, and the mysteries of life and death, which align with the stylistic diversity and timeless impact of GMChorale’s half century of professional level productions in Connecticut.
