Chorus description:
A Boston area men's chorus that gives three or four high quality concerts a year, performing a varied and broadening repertoire, drawn largely from diverse American and European classical and popular genres of various levels of difficulty, singing from memory when time for preparation permits, introduced by a compere (a concert emcee who provides an original narration to accompany each concert), before a widening, enthusiastic audience. We sing with dedication, under professional direction, in a rehearsal and performance atmosphere that is friendly and fun as well as technically precise and musically challenging, satisfying to good recreational singers, skilled amateurs and trained vocalists alike, who work diligently to create excellent music and presentations, striving to improve and to stay on top of our skills at all times. We seek rewarding performance opportunities, including traveling to perform elsewhere in the U.S. and abroad from time to time. We regard our accompanist as a true collaborator and hold camaraderie among the whole ensemble to be among our highest values. We have performed at historic venues including Carnegie Hall, Faneuil Hall, Fenway Park, the Royal Albert Hall and Southwalk Cathedral in London, Winchester Cathedral, and the Cardiff Metropolitan Cathedral in Wales. Other performances include the Boston’s Museum of Fine Arts and on WGBH’s “Sing That Thing” program. Overseas performances have included Ireland, England, Wales, Portugal, Canada and Spain. Typically we join with local choruses wherever we visit. We mentor young singers through collaborative concerts here in the Boston area. We host Vocal workshops to improve voice and singing skills. All are welcome to attend. We welcome new citizens to the United States at Boston’s historic Faneuil Hall Naturalization ceremonies. We have fun! From rehearsals to performances, we guarantee great times and amazing experiences that you will never forget.
