Description
The Springfield Community Chorus brings outstanding choral music to the Springfield, Vermont area. The chorus performs a Holiday Concert in early December and a Spring Concert, usually on Palm Sunday, and often performs on other occasions.
We encourage new members, including students, to join our chorus. We are not an auditioned group, but the ability to read music is very helpful and choristers must be able to sing accurately. Dues are $30 per season, however, full time students are not required to pay dues. Attendance at both concerts is required.
In addition to a challenging and exciting rehearsal, members expand their vocal technique under the expert training of director Ken Olsson. A native of Connecticut, Olsson took his musical training at Ithaca College, where he received a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance and became Musical Director of the Cornell Savoyards, leading performances of Gilbert & Sullivan operettas.
