Singing primarily a cappella classical repertoire from the past five centuries, both sacred and secular. Our members range in age from 25 to 75, and work in a number of occupations throughout Addison, Chittenden, Franklin, and Washington counties in Vermont, and join together for 2-hour weekly rehearsals on Monday evenings. The choir presents annual December and April/May concerts at St. Michael's College, Colchester, VT, and at other locations across the region.

Originally called the University of Vermont Choral Union, the group was founded in 1968 by University of Vermont Professor James G. Chapman, who directed the Choral Union until his retirement in 2004. At that time, Gary Moreau, well-known state-wide as a music educator and soloist, as well as an alumnus of UVM and the Choral Union, was chosen as director and the group's name changed to the Vermont Choral Union. Jeff Rehbach was named artistic director in 2011.
