Bethany Lutheran Church Director of Music

The Music Director is responsible for leading the music during Lutheran (ELCA) liturgical worship. This includes regular consultation with the Pastor to review hymnody, anthems and related music to enhance the worship experience. Also included is leadership and direction for a small senior choir. Available instruments include a Yamaha baby grand piano and Yamaha electronic piano/organ in the nave of the sanctuary and a 8-rank Wicks pipe organ in the sanctuary balcony.

The position is part time, about 15 hours/month. More information is in the attached document.

Eric Whitacre Leads Connecticut's "Voce"

The Hartford, Connecticut professional choral ensemble Voce welcomes Eric Whitacre as Conductor and Composer-in-Residence for their 2019-2020 season with a "Prelude" concert on October 22, 2019, where Whitacre and Voce perform some of Whitacre's best-known works, including Lux Nova, Cloudburst and Leonardo Dreams of His Flying Machine, as well as five movements of Sacred Veil, which was premiered earlier this year. The event partially benefits Choral Arts New England's grants program.
