July 30–August 5, 2017
Location:
Bethany Covenant Church, 785 Mill Street, Berlin, CT

Exploring the Great Choral Masterworks Now in its 18th season, CONCORA’s Summer Festival offers amateur singers an opportunity to rehearse, learn, and perform with CONCORA (Connecticut Choral Artists), the region’s oldest and best-known professional choir. The Festival includes a week of exceptional music-making, uplifting repertoire, and high artistic standards in a relaxed atmosphere with plenty of opportunities for socializing, renewing friendships, and making new friends. In evening and weekend sessions, participants rehearse with Artistic Director Chris Shepard and an ensemble of CONCORA’s professional singers, enjoying three festive social events along the way. The Festival culminates in a public concert on Saturday, August 5, at 4:00 PM.

The 2017 Summer Festival features excerpts from favorite choral masterworks by Bach, Handel, Mozart, Vivaldi, Brahms, Mendelssohn, Rossini, Fauré, and others. CONCORA’s Artistic Director Chris Shepard will direct the CONCORA Summer Festival Choir, which typically numbers about 100 singers from across Connecticut, with some coming from nearby states.
