8:00 PM. Orchestra New England / GMChorale [CT]: Colonial Concert, with Alchemy Vocal Chamber Ensemble. The annual Colonial Concert features music that could have been presented in a concert in New Haven in 1786, with musicians dressed in period clothes. W.A. Mozart: Symphony No. 35 (“Haffner”); J.S. Bach: organ works; G.F. Handel: concluding music from Messiah; ,and orchestral and vocal excerpts from plays and operas. A festive pre-concert dinner will take place at 6 pm at the Elm City Club; there will be a post-concert reception at the meetinghouse.
