Auditions are open for Back Bay Chorale, Brattleboro Camerata, Brattleboro Concert Choir, The Cambridge Chamber Singers , Cantemus Chamber Chorus, Cantilena, Coro Allegro, Crescendo Music, GM Chorale, Jameson Singers, Lexington Pops Chorus, Masterworks Chorale, Mystic River Chorale, New England Classical Singers, The Oriana Consort and Zamir Chorale of Boston. iCal 10:00 AM. Boston Cecilia [MA]: The Boston Cecilia "History Walk". A 90-minute guided walk at the Mt. Auburn Cemetery through Boston’s music history, starting in the late 19th century, a time when Cecilia played an important role in Boston's emergence as an American center for classical music. The walk visits the gravesite of B.J. Lang, Cecilia’s first music director, along with other historic figures, including BSO founder Henry Lee Higginson, two of the “Boston Six” - Arthur Foote and George W. Chadwick — as well as Margret Ruthven Lang, the first American woman to have a piece performed by a major orchestra, and Mabel Wheeler Daniel, a conductor, composer, and educator.
