8:00 PM. The Boston Cecilia [MA]: Prophecy: Dvořák, Brahms and Paths in American Choral Music. Songs of Antonin Dvořák and Johannes Brahms, Harry Burleigh’s arrangement of the spiritual “My Lord What A Morning” and choral pieces by Amy Beach, Aaron Copland, Nathaniel Dett, Charles Ives, Rosephayne Powell, Zanaida Robles, Samuel Coleridge-Taylor and George Walker. From Brahms’s melodic story songs of love and loss to Zanaida Robles’ anthem “Ecstatic Expectancy”, the concert explores both heritage and invention.
