iCal 4:00 PM. Heritage Chorale [MA]: Pops Concert: Humor Us! A celebration of songs with a comical twist. Enjoy the mock-seriousness of “Jack cum Amico Jill” — the Latin version of “Jack and Jill” — and the foot-stomping Liebeslieder Polkas by P. D. Q. Bach. Encounter a veritable menagerie of animals-in-song, including “Mary Had a Little Lamb” (in settings that might have been created by Schubert or Verdi), a whole barn-full of animals in Copland’s “I Got Me a Cat,” the famous blind mice in Porter’s “Mouse Madrigal,” and the whiting and the snail in Lewis Carroll’s “Lobster Quadrille” from Alice in Wonderland. Relive some childhood memories when you hear Allan Sherman’s classic letter from camp, “Hello Muddah, Hello Fadduh.” And commiserate with our alto section (who never seem to get to sing the melody!) in “The Alto’s Lament.” Before and after the concert, enjoy the Chorale's second Annual Silent Auction.
