8:00 PM. Cantata Singers [MA]: Bach and Child. J.S. Bach: BWV 2, "Ach Gott, vom Himmel sieh darein"; BWV 21, "Ich hatte viel Bekümmernis"; Peter Child: Lamentations (World Premiere, commission). Inspired by a contemporary poetic translation of the Lamentations from the Old Testament by writer David Rosenberg, Lamentations explores the themes of loss and turmoil, also echoed in BWV 2 and 21. Composer Peter Child will give a pre-concert talk, free to all ticketholders, at 7 pm in Williams Hall. Following the performance, all are invited to attend a free post-concert reception.
