Chorus description:
Chorus members are a group of dedicated non-professional musicians who strive to create quality music in a warm and friendly atmosphere. It is a social as well as musical endeavor for us all. QCS musicians are from all walks of life: business people, doctors, lawyers, teachers, homemakers, students and retirees. Members live between Boston and Cape Cod, and share the common love of singing together. Some of our large musical repertoire includes the Bach Mass in B minor, Beethoven Missa Solemnis, Brahms A German Requiem, Dvorak Te Deum, Handel Messiah and Coronation Anthems, Haydn The Creation, Mendelssohn Elijah, Mozart Requiem and Coronation Mass, Schubert Mass in A flat and Vivaldi Gloria. The chorus has also performed major works by contemporary composers Britten, Bush and Rutter, as well as spirituals, seasonal songs, patriotic songs, and much more. A smaller touring group has gone to Europe eight times. Concerts have been performed in England, Wales, Scotland, France, Austria, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, Finland, Sweden, Russia and the Czech Republic. We are always interested in new singers - especially men! Previous choral experience is a plus but not required. Our Fall season begins the first Monday after Labor Day and our Winter/Spring season begins the first Monday after New Year’s Day for both our March and May concerts. No appointment is necessary.
