A unique collaborative a cappella concert that features two diverse a cappella singing ensembles, the Conn Men from UConn and Voices of Concinnity, a new vocal ensemble from northeastern CT. Choral selections by Whitacre, Lauridsen, Monteverdi, Holst, and others, in a special, coffeehouse-style performance in a historic thread mill. Eastern Connecticut’s newest vocal chamber ensemble, Voices of Concinnity, explores the stories behind this music and how the singing of the text could affect us more profoundly than spoken word. Featuring selections by Lauridsen, Monteverdi, Holst, Whitacre, Schutz and more to explore “whether love, like music, can transcend time, the written page, and even the actual physical production of sound.” Led by founding director Sarah Kaufold, Voices of Concinnity is a 12-voice chamber ensemble of dedicated, seasoned choral artists from diverse backgrounds.
