Pioneer Valley Cappella (PVC) is a Northampton-based auditioned ensemble that has been performing unaccompanied choral music for over thirty years. Our fall concert pairs Pēteris Vasks's haunting Dona nobis pacem with songs, service music, and spirituals on the theme of peace by Aluoch & Anyango, Burleigh, Byrd, Gibbons, Gibbs, Johnson, Morely, Tallis, & Weelkes. Experienced singers are invited to join us for a rehearsal and audition on September 12. Auditions are friendly.   • Musica Sacra [MA]: Music for this May Evening: Choral Music for the Season and the Times. Spring is a time of rebirth and regeneration, but the events of this spring have highlighted the many divisions in our country and world right now. Musica Sacra welcomes in this spring with works depicting the natural wonders of the season and with heartfelt pleas to consider our commonalities from such diverse voices as a 19th century Moravian preacher and a 20th century South African folksong.
