Enjoy the iconic American sound of Aaron Copland in his setting of ten Old American Songs sung by the chorus and baritone soloist, Andrew Garland, accompanied by a chamber orchestra arranged by BSMC director Michael Driscoll. Critics have described Andrew Garland’s voice as “…virile, luxuriantly warm and beautiful” and his performances as “expressive…with the occasional streak of theatricality.” BSMC will also be singing a selection of American songs from our past 20 years—songs that have been popular for the chorus and our audience alike. This year’s guest groups are the Natick High School Men’s Choir directed by Tyler Turner, the Boston Children’s Chorus Young Men’s Ensemble directed by Anthony Trecek-King, the WPI Men’s Glee Club directed by John Delorey, and WPI’s Simple Harmonic Motion a cappella ensemble.
