Conductor/Accompanist for Canton Choral Society (CCS)
The Canton Choral Society is looking for Conductor/Accompanist to lead our choral group. The Canton Choral Society is a non-profit, community-focused organization open to adult interested in choral music. The Society is dedicated to fostering enthusiasm and accessibility to a variety of music types. Founded in 2003, the Society has performed at numerous public and private events during the Winter Holiday and Spring Seasons.
The Conductor/Accompanist will be responsible for the following:
1. In consultation with the Founding Director, select appropriate music for two annual performance seasons.
2. Organize, train and lead the chorus during our weekly rehearsals. Day of the week has historically been Mondays, but adjustments can be considered.
The Conductor/Accompanist must be community minded with strong keyboard skills. The Conductor/Accompanist must have the ability to organize, train and lead a chorus, to work with instrumentalists and small ensembles, and to establish positive relationships with chorus members and other musicians.
The Canton Choral Society is a non-profit group dependent on charitable donations. We are seeking a person interested in leading a community group with members who are eager to learn!
Compensation will depend on number of rehearsals and performances, to be determined.
