Description

An ensemble of women singing a diverse repertoire for treble voices, from the 15th century to the present, under the artistic direction of composer and conductor Kenneth Seitz. We strive to introduce our audience to works they are unlikely to hear elsewhere, including pieces in which women compose the music and/or text. Performances are held every December and May at the First Parish Unitarian Universalist Church in Arlington Center.

Our December 2009 concert, "Northern Lights," will explore the vibrant musical traditions of Russia, England, and the rich and ever-expanding choral repertoire of Scandanavia. Where the winters are darkest, the composers are shining the brightest! We will present music by Rachmaninoff, Grieg, Sallinen, Sandstrom, and others, including Rautavaara's gripping "Suite de Lorca."

Our Mother's Day concert in May of 2010 will explore the many facets of motherhood, from the ideal to the real and beyond.

Our Spring 2009 concert "Touches of Sweet Harmony" honored the many years of singing under the guidance of our now retired Music Director Ken Seitz.
