Generally, grants are meant to encourage special events and activities that might not feasible without outside support. We encourage ambitious and collaborative projects. Choral Arts New England tries to distribute its grants throughout the New England area. Organizations in rural, inner-city, or otherwise musically under-served areas are encouraged to apply.
Choral Arts New England has given Alfred Nash Patterson grants, established in memory of the legendary founding music director of Boston's Chorus pro Musica, since 1985. The purpose of the grants is to support choral music in New England. Recipients include New England choruses, both amateur and professional; parent organizations of New England choruses; and any other group supporting choral music in New England. Church choirs, school or college choruses, and non-performing organizations are eligible. Grant recipients must be non-profit and certified tax-exempt — 501(c)(3) — by the IRS.
Decisions will be announced by early May 2020.
