iCal 4:00 PM. West Hartford Women's Chorale [CT]: Festival of Women's Voices. A collaboration of musical performances that showcase the beauty and range of women’s voices. The second annual Festival of Women’s Voices features five women's choruses: Another Octave, Glastonbury High School's Treble Choir, Hall High School's Voce di Coeli, and Simsbury High School's Treble Choir, together with the West Hartford Women’s Chorale. Each group will sing individually, followed by two collaborative performances. Door donations will benefit The Bridge Family Center, a West Hartford organization that supports youth at risk and their families. iCal 7:30 PM. West Hartford Women's Chorale [CT]: Winter Mystique, A Winter Concert. Join the Chorale in celebrating its 10th year anniversary as they perform Daniel Pinkham's Christmas Cantata, featuring a brass ensemble, and works of Haydn, Handel, Praetorius, and others. Other pieces in the program range from the Renaissance to a newly composed work. Free will donations are appreciated.   • Musica Sacra [MA]: In Music is Such Art: Choral Music set to texts of Shakespeare. Brush up your Shakespeare! From the time of his contemporary, Thomas Morley, to the present day, composers have turned to his expressive poetry to further explore his keen observations of the human condition. Modern composers such as Mäntyjärvi, Diemer, Komulainen, Harris, Helldén, Johanson, and Hamilton, as well as 19th century ones such as Macfarren, Pearsall and Amy Beach have all set his texts, be they poetry or songs or famous soliloquies from his plays.   • Pioneer Valley Symphony Orchestra: Oliver Towne: Streaming Free May 1. The PVS Orchestra’s 30th annual Mary Stuart Rogers Education Concert was performed on April 11th for almost one thousand 3rd & 4th graders in Greenfield, MA. A video of the world premiere of Oliver Towne, a radio play-style composition from Andrés Martín and poet Roger Arvid Anderson, will be available to stream free on our YouTube channel beginning May 1st.
