Artistic Director Jason Iannuzzi directs the Cantemus Chamber Chorus in “songs of love” in all its forms: Love among friends, Romantic love, Love between parent and child, and Love for all humankind. From a new arrangement of “The Parting Glass”… to Leonard Bernstein’s “To What You Said” … to Linthicum-Blackhorse’s arrangement of the Lakota lullaby “Chante Waste Hoksila (My Kind-hearted Boy)” ... to Joan Szymko’s rousing “It Takes a Village”… plus some P.D.Q. From the time of his contemporary, Thomas Morley, to the present day, composers have turned to his expressive poetry to further explore his keen observations of the human condition. Modern composers such as Mäntyjärvi, Diemer, Komulainen, Harris, Helldén, Johanson, and Hamilton, as well as 19th century ones such as Macfarren, Pearsall and Amy Beach have all set his texts, be they poetry or songs or famous soliloquies from his plays.   • Pioneer Valley Symphony Orchestra: Oliver Towne: Streaming Free May 1. The PVS Orchestra’s 30th annual Mary Stuart Rogers Education Concert was performed on April 11th for almost one thousand 3rd & 4th graders in Greenfield, MA. A video of the world premiere of Oliver Towne, a radio play-style composition from Andrés Martín and poet Roger Arvid Anderson, will be available to stream free on our YouTube channel beginning May 1st.
